Keyboard timeout setting on HP Spectre x360 Laptop bios

Many models of HP Spectre x360 laptops do not have the ability to configure the keyboard backlight to stay on. The short, and non configurable, timeout setup means that the back light will turn off if there are no keystrokes or mouse movements for the predefined amount of time.
This means that if you are using the laptop in the dark the keyboard will become unusable after a short time of inactivity. This is precisely why you have a backlit keyboard,....to see when its dark.
Many thousands of people on HP's own support forums and 3rd party websites have asked how to fix this fault but HP repeatedly tell people that its not a fault and that no new bios or driver will be written to "fix" this issue.
HP needs to write an update to their BIOS settings so that users can configure their laptop keyboard backlight to stay on as an option.
If you have an 2020 or 2019 spectre x360 in 13inch or 15inch you have this problem. Please sign this petition to lobby HP to implement the fix.
