We are demanding that the corporation Nestlé stop using plastic packaging and switch to environmentally friendlier packaging alternatives like aluminum or glass. In addition to Nestlé not using plastic, we want them to campaign for recycling and spread awareness about plastic dangers. We also would like them to sponsor a yearly mass clean-up.

Nestlé is one of the biggest contributors to the plastic crisis. According to Statista, Nestlé generated 1.7 million metric tons of plastic packaging waste in 2019 alone. The best solution is to reduce our plastic production. If we do not stop the production of plastic; our Earth is going to be polluted off and on shore, more animals will die to extinction, landfills will fill up at a faster rate, and it will contribute to global warming.

Did you know that…
  • It takes approximately 450 years for plastic water bottles to decompose in a landfill.
  • Over 100 million (100,000,000) marine animals die every year from plastic waste.
  • Only 9% of plastic is actually recycled.

We need better options from companies to purchase in stores!  Nestlé states they will have 100% of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025, but what does that really mean? It means that they want to start using a different "friendlier" plastic for their products. They are only willing to reduce the amount of "virgin" plastic by a small amount. Reducing virgin plastic just means that they will try to incorporate a little more "recycled" plastic into their products. They will still be producing plastic, up to two-thirds of what they normally produce. Nestlé does not care about reducing its plastic production, they only care about its public image when putting out statements.

Sign if you want to save our planet and fight against corporations like Nestlé that contribute to the plastic crisis.
