Micky Arison - Chairman of the Board of Carnival Corporation & PLC
Imagine working 12-hour shifts 7 days a week, only to be paid $1.64 per hour. Imagine being constantly separated from your family - helplessly working night and day to put food on the table.

While this may seem unimaginable to most - this is reality for hundreds of thousands of cruise line workers.
Carnival Cruises and other powerful cruise line companies have been able to exploit their workers for years through the practice of “ flying a flag of convenience .” The practice involves registering their cruise ships in countries with weak or nonexistent labor laws, allowing Carnival to underpay their workers and have them work under inhumane working conditions. Worse yet, the workers are unable to do anything to improve their situation, making Carnival richer at the expense of their own employees' lives.

Action must be taken to free these cruise line workers from their shackles! Carnival Cruises is the most powerful cruise line company in the industry - holding a whopping 44% of the market share and serving roughly 28.5 million people each year prior to COVID-19. That being said, we must pressure Carnival Cruises to put an end to their unfair practices and force them to register their ships under their American headquarters to ensure that they comply with US labor laws.

If Carnival Cruises follows suit, the rest of the industry will need to do the same! By abiding to US labor laws, cruise line workers would be ensured the fair wages they deserve and would no longer have to work under the dire working conditions they currently face.

Sign our petition to help put an end to Carnival Corporation’s oppressive tactics! These workers desperately need your help! We demand that Carnival Corporation:
  • Registers their cruise ships under their American headquarters in Miami, Florida
  • Complies with all US labor laws and pays all of their workers, both foreign and domestic, a minimum wage of at least $7.25 per hour
  • Monitors and publishes detailed reports of working conditions and employee satisfaction every year
