EL 27N DEMANDA LA RENUNCIA INMEDIATA
DEL MINISTRO DE CULTURA ALPIDIO ALONSO GRAU
Dada la gravedad de los hechos ocurridos el pasado 27 de enero a las puertas del Ministerio de Cultura, artistas, escritores, periodistas y miembros de la sociedad civil integrantes del 27N, exigimos la renuncia inmediata del Ministro de Cultura, Alpidio Alonso Grau. Como ciudadanos de la República de Cuba creemos en la reivindicación pacífica de nuestros derechos y condenamos enfáticamente toda manifestación de violencia, en particular, cualquier manifestación de violencia gubernamental impulsada desde las instituciones y ejercida por funcionarios públicos.
En nombre de los valores y principios que siempre ha defendido la nación, y de los derechos que recoge la Constitución de la República, no aceptamos que se continúe naturalizando el uso de la violencia institucional en nuestro país.
Los funcionarios públicos deben actuar desde el civismo, la transparencia y el respeto a la dignidad humana. No puede ser servidor público quien se ufane del uso de la violencia para limitar impunemente derechos ciudadanos. El Ministro debe asumir en primera persona la responsabilidad sobre la violencia ejercida el 27 de enero a las puertas del Mincult, de lo contrario el estado y el gobierno cubano liderado por Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez y Manuel Marrero Cruz serían cómplices de un acto de violencia institucionalizada y de una ilegalidad. Ello implicaría una falta de credibilidad y legitimidad para su gobierno ante la ciudadanía y la opinión internacional.
Esta declaración se acoge al Artículo 61 de la Constitución, que reconoce que los ciudadanos pueden dirigir peticiones a las instituciones y autoridades, e invoca el Artículo 8 de la Ley de Revocación de Mandatos, según el cual se establece que los elegidos a los órganos del Poder Popular pueden ser revocados si incurren en hechos que los hagan desmerecer de buen concepto público o manifiestan una conducta incompatible con el honor de ser representante del pueblo en un órgano del Poder Popular.
Por tanto: SOLICITAMOS AL CONSEJO DE ESTADO QUE IMPULSE UN PROCESO DE REVOCACIÓN DEL MANDATO DE ALPIDIO ALONSO GRAU, Ministro de Cultura y diputado de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular.
Queremos un país donde se respete la dignidad plena del hombre y donde todos los cubanos podamos vivir en paz.

THE 27N DEMANDS THE IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION
OF THE MINISTER OF CULTURE ALPIDIO ALONSO GRAU
Given the seriousness of the events that occurred on January 27 in front of the Ministry of Culture, artists, writers, journalists, members of 27N movement and civil society, demand the immediate resignation of the Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso Grau. As citizens of the Republic of Cuba we believe in the peaceful vindication of our rights and we emphatically condemn all manifestations of violence, in particular, any form of unprovoked government violence promoted by public institutions and exercised by public officials.
In the name of the values of the Cuban people and the rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic, we will never accept the use of institutional violence in our country.
Public officials must act with civility, transparency and respect for human dignity. Anyone who takes pride in the use of violence to limit citizen rights with impunity is not a public servant. The Minister must assume responsibility for the violence carried out on January 27 at the gates of the Ministry, otherwise the Cuban government led by Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Manuel Marrero Cruz would be accomplices of an act of institutionalized violence and illegality. This would imply a lack of credibility and legitimacy for his government before the public and international opinion.
This declaration is based on Article 61 of the Constitution, which recognizes that citizens can direct petitions to institutions and authorities, and invokes Article 8 of the Law on Revocation of Mandates, according to which it is established that those elected to the organs of the People's Power may be revoked in the event of acts that detract from the public good or manifest a conduct incompatible with the honor of serving as the representative of the people in an organ of People's Power.
Therefore: WE REQUEST THE COUNCIL OF STATE TO PROMOTE A PROCESS OF REVOCATION OF THE MANDATE OF ALPIDIO ALONSO GRAU, Minister of Culture and deputy of the National Assembly of People's Power.
We want a country where dignity is respected and where all Cubans can live in peace.
