Sign against construction of windmillpark and for real sustainable solutions in Samothraki

The beautiful island of Samothraki in northern Greece, home of the famous statue of Nike of Samothraki, on expo at the Louvre, is in danger&excl&excl

Two colossal companies plan to build a hybrid wind farm on the island, which threatens the natural environment, flora and fauna of the land.
In order to build this farm,
‐vast ancient forests must be leveled,
‐use of explosives and drilling can disrupt the clean, drinkable, freshwater springs,
‐electromagnetic and infrasound pollution can collapse bee colonies and disorient birds and animals.
Also, a network of high voltage columns needs to be placed and these, along with the wind generators themselves, are often cause of fire.

In many cases in the past, wind generators have been placed, with no commitment on behalf of the companies to be used, upkept or removed, only to take advantage of the profit from government funding. This has resulted in wind farms rotting and polluting the land with hazardous toxic industrial waste.
Let us all stand together for this heaven on earth, and protect the environment, by taking action, with our presence in every way we can&excl&excl

Participate in more actions to avoid the construction of this and more capitalist ideas by extending real autonomy with decentralisation of power and selforganisation of a solidarity economy as a base.
