United Nations: International Railway Day on eleventh day of November

A few months ago, we visit the United Nations website making a small research for Global Days, and thought we found that there are approximately 140 Global Days,there is no Global Railway Day.

The Railway is considered to be the best, most

economical, environmentally friendly and safest way for the transportation of both passengers and goods.

We believe that the railway family that is honored to work for the railway and feels proud of its work, along with all passengers-travelers and railway lovers all over the
world, will be willing to support our effort for the declaration of a Global Railway Day.

This effort started from the Union of Technological Education Railway Engineers with the support of the Greek Federation of Railway workers and all the rest of the Railway Unions of Greece.

Thus, we propose that the eleventh of November (11/11) of each year, to be declared as the Global Railway Day.

We inform you that the Global Action Day Rail, which is celebrated every year one day of April, by decision of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), corresponds to a different cause. It meant to be a Global Day for the Railway workers and not for the Railway.
