Over 40% of our pollinators have all but disappeared. The number 1 cause of death, pesticides!

Every plant, tree, flower, bush or packet of seeds you buy, has been treated with a pesticide that lasts up to 6 years on the plant. You cannot wash it off.

These pesticides, neonics, should be banned on city property.

Ask our city council members to stand up, take decisive action to protect our native pollinators the bees, birds, bats and butterflies before it is too late.

Ask Reno City Council, to join the ranks of other US cities who have made the switch to safer alternatives.

Even though systemic pesticide use has been banned in other countries and cities throughout the USA, many organizations, landscaping companies, home owners and city park officials regularly spray with these damaging chemicals.

The chemicals travel through the soil, plant and roots killing and damaging our local pollinators, including bumble bees, honey bees, birds, butterflies and native pollinating insects. Most plants purchased at your local garden shop have been treated with these pesticides. The only safe flower or plant is an organic one. The good news is, that there are safer more affordable alternatives available.

Other cities across the US have taken steps to limit and/or ban the use of these life threatening pesticides. Department of AG in Oregon has banned the use of systemic chemicals as well as other US departments of wildlife. When you know better, you do better. I know the city I love, Reno, Nevada can do better.

Please sign and share this petition with everyone you can. We would like to present this petition to our Reno Nevada City Council members to show that our community is educated and concerned about our children's welfare and future.
