Due to COVID-19 many maternity units have implemented a 1 birth partner rule. This means those people choosing to have the support of a doula through their labour and birth are being denied their birth rights. Doulas are part of the birth team and should not be excluded from the birth room.  Current PHE, RCM & RCOG do not recommend restricting birth partners on labour wards or birthing units.
