Government of India(Punjab)
Hello to everyone,

Mr Gurbaksh Singh, who is on hunger strike from last 24 days, has a simple demand for Indian government to either let him die or release Sikh prisoners who have finished their sentence in jails all across India.

Most of these prisoners have been accused but never proven guilty. Some of them have been in the jail for over 5 years after finishing their sentence, simply due to backlogs and political reasons of the government officials.

Is asking for independence from jail that people deserve is too much to ask?

Mr. Singh's started hunger strike peacefully sitting at Gurduara(Sikh Temple), after 23 days Punjab Police came in civil dresses, abducted Gurbaksh Singh and they threw him in a van like a sack of potato while knowing the fact that he hasn't had anything to eat for 23 days. While in the police custody, police forcefully tried to break his hunger strike. After being unsuccessful in breaking Mr Singh's hunger, police jailed him for attempting to suicide.

There have been hardly any media coverage to expose this inhuman behavior of government officials.

Perhaps Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s hunger strike can further highlight these grave human rights violations in a country that deceptively boasts itself to be the world’s largest democracy.
