started this petition to
President Michael Chilufya Sata

President Sata has been sitting on our draft constitution for almost six months – hoping that we will forget about it so he can secretly toss it in the bin. If we stay silent, he will get his wish and Zambia will be stuck for years to come with the current flawed constitution - something none of us want.

But if enough of us stand up to President Sata now and demand that he hand over our draft constitution, he will have to listen to us. Now is the time to show him that we will not stop until we get our hands on the draft. It is – after all – our constitution, not his.

So sign this petition and share with everyone via Facebook, Twitter and email. When we get to 10,000 signatures from across Zambia, we will take the petition to State House – and demand that President Sata publishes the draft.

Remember that President Sata promised us a new constitution within 90 days of coming to office. That is one of his many broken promises. There is obviously something in the draft that scares our Head of State. Perhaps it is something that gives more power to the people, rather than the president. Or that better protects our basic rights.

But Zambian citizens are not scared of the new draft. We want to see it, discuss it and enact it – so that we can move forward as a nation.

So let’s join together now to demand our draft constitution.
