TEN years ago the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Shalimar Ali&dash Hack maliciously/deliberately placed wrongful charges on the NBS CEO Maurice Arjoon & the non&dashmuslim Managers &dash Kent Vincent and Kissoon Baldeo, and LIED that she had "overwhelming & compelling" evidence, then manipulated the court system to delay the matter for 4 1/2 years, never providing any evidence of any wrongdoings. Also, the NBS Act was amended and rushed through Parliament by the then Government to make it impossible for NBS members to call for an investigation, nor was Justice forthcoming from the high court and the reason was also reported to the Ombudsman in January 2014 when he was appointed. Following an intense investigation, the Ombudsman submitted his report to then President Ramotar who did not act on it, and then to Parliament in November 2014. The report also revealed that certain Top&dashlevel Public Officials of that Administration, and, from the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG), and Directors of NBS were among the perpetrators.
The report was tabled in Parliament in July 2015, and in November 2015 it was mentioned that steps were being made to have the matter debated (confirmed with a Media release in April 2016) but subsequent checks with Parliament revealed that no date can be provided when the report will be addressed.
Note also that since 2007, although the NBS Board had evidence of their innocence and no fraud proven, the 3 victims were dismissed without due process required by Law & Pension Rights withheld for which they have to go to the high court. But the case "Arjoon vs NBS" has been has ongoing for almost 6 years and although closing remarks were made since Sep 2016 and the judge set date of Nov 29,2016 to rule, he has NOT ruled and no new date set to rule..
We are therefore appealing to the Government to have the Ombudsman's findings addressed without further delay and&colon
i) Arrange to have the victims compensated
ii) Reopen the case and have the Perpetrators of this heinous crime.prosecuted according to Law
And also asking the judge to rule in the case "Arjoon vs NBS"
