New Zealand Parliament: Warrant of mental fitness for all politicians and senior bureaucrats
Seeing the goings on in politics coming to light in New Zealand, and considering the 'power' and 'influence' that these sorts of people are in charge of, plus the potential for damage they can cause to others we think it would be wise to institute a 'license of mental fitness to practice' for Politicians and upper level bureaucrats.
We are proposing a substantial psychological/psychiatric assessment for all politicians and senior bureaucrats that must be passed before they can be granted a license to practice their craft. There will be a 3 yearly ' continuing fitness check' required to be passed 12 months before any election period before they they are allowed to apply to continue in the next election cycle.
Minor levels of crazy would of course be acceptable to practice 'politics' as otherwise we expect we would be left with a NZ candidate pool of less than 20 people. We consider it unlikely that a total NZ political staff of 20 would be able to get all the required workload done effectively to the required standard, and also this workload would potentially preclude them being able to do the exact things that stop them from being crazy, such as going to the beach, and hanging out with friends.
We feel this 'license to practice' will stop the downward spiral of NZ politics into infectious 'Bat Sh*t crazy' and filter out those with pathological personality disorders that are currently threatening those in the upper echelons of the political spectrum from performing the actual job they are being paid for. i.e. caring for the country and the people that allow them to hold these positions.
