Wow! We really did it!!! Unbelievable!

Here are the news: Last night the young Austrian student landed back home in Vienna after 250,000 citizens from around the world signed an Avaaz petition calling for her release, pressuring Austrian Foreign Minister Kurz to send his top-level diplomats to Dubai and successfully negotiate her release.

But we can't stop now: Many tourists are still at risk from Dubai’s misogynist laws. Austrias Foreign Minister Kurz needs to publicly call on Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed to ensure rape victims are protected, not prosecuted.

Let's get him to do it -- everything's possible together!

It sounds like every woman’s worst nightmare : Her suspected rapist is said to have locked his car doors and raped the 29 year old Austrian woman in an underground car park. What happened next is simply unbelievable.

The young woman from Vienna sought help at the police. But instead of receiving support, she is now threatened with a one year prison sentence for "extramarital sex" — unless she marries her rapist. It’s heartbreaking, but together we can help her: Half a year ago a Norwegian woman experienced a similar nightmare in Dubai. She was freed after Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs stepped in — let’s get his Austrian counterpart to do the same!

We have to reach as many people as possible, before the media loose interest in the story and the woman is sentenced. Sign now and share this campaign - so that the young Austrian woman can fly back home to Vienna and Dubai is feeling the pressure to reform its law.
