Boycott Queensland

Qld Environment Minister Andrew Powell, and Campbell Newman, have changed the laws making it easier for councils to disperse flying foxes from all colonies around Qld without restriction, ie. this means dispersing with lethal methods even during maternity months when baby bats will die because they are too young to fly, as happened in CHARTERS TOWERS. Why Mr Powell, why Mr Campbell do you want to harm and/or kill endangered bats? DO NOT SAY YOU ARE PROTECTING QUEENSLANDERS. There is a vaccine, people should be educated not to touch them but to co-exist, educate don't eradicate. Educate people to stop fearing them. Baby bats are too young to fly, they are victims of your politics. Thousands of people die from domestic dog attacks (50 in 30yrs), shark attacks (40 in 30yrs), snakes (40+ in 30yrs), horse-riding accidents (600 in 30yrs), and car accidents (1000s), but only (YES ONLY) 3 people have died in 30yrs from the Lyssavirus, the LEAST fatal disease in the world. Bats do not pass Hendra to people, education is necessary here. There is a vaccine for Hendra. Are you going to cull dogs, horses and snakes as well? Are you going to stop people driving? We do not agree with your politics, we do not agree with shooting bats to kill, or shooting with paintball guns that could kill, we do not agree to dispersals of colonies by lethal inhumane methods, as happened in CHARTERS TOWERS (9 December 2013), where babies died. Dispersal permits say ONLY NON-LETHAL methods are to be used. SHAME on you. Please Australia, (and bat lovers around the world), help our unique flying foxes, boycott Qld Australia until our flying foxes are once again protected permanently. Do your job. BE A PROPER ENVIRONMENT MINISTER .... LOOK AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT - STOP DESTROYING IT!!!
