The South African Law Reform Commission
The South African Law Reform Commission is proposing a new draft PROHIBITION OF HARMFUL PRACTICES ASSOCIATED WITH WITCHCRAFT BELIEFS BILL.

Allegations of harmful witchcraft practices rely on beliefs that supernatural means may be employed to cause harm to others. Whilst such beliefs may be true for those who believe them, allegations of harm caused by supernatural means, in the absence of actual criminal acts, can never be proven in a court of law usuing demonstrable evidence. Criminal acts that result in harm against another may be perpetrated by any person, irrespective of their religious beliefs. It would be unfair to single out only one religious minority as practicing unprovable alleged 'harmful supernatural practices'.

Join South African Pagans and Witches in objecting against the SALRC's proposed draft Bill.

Sign this petition and tell the SALRC not to unfairly prejudice religious minorities by legislating against allegations of unprovable supernatural harmful practices.

Submit your objection to the proposed Bill directly to the State Law Advisor, South African Law Reform Commission, for attention Ms. Jennifer Joni at JJoni@justice.gov.za
Closing date for public submissions - 30 April 2016.
