Here's the maths:
Forgiveness in every heart = Global Peace
As the His Holiness the Dalai Lama says: "Practising forgiveness does not mean accepting wrong doing."
Forgiveness means: "The absolute refusal to hold ill will against someone for something they did or didn't do." (KB Brown)
So every heart matters.... YOUR heart matters...
The Dalai Lama also recently said of the Paris attacks, "We cannot solve this problem only through prayers....."We need a systematic approach to foster humanistic values, of oneness and harmony…. So let us work for peace within our families and society and not expect help from God, Buddha or the governments."
"Furthermore, the problems we are facing today are the result of superficial differences over religious faiths and nationalities. We are one people."
Imagine sitting down to eat on December 25th and looking around the room, feeling completely at peace, appreciative and loving towards every single person there....
Only good will in every heart = Global Peace
Forgiveness a radical way to create Global Peace.
It might sound naive, but if you forgive all the people and things you hold ill will against, including yourself and make amends... we would AUTOMATICALLY have Global Peace....
It's an audacious vision and it's a choice....
Choose to forgive and create Global Peace.
The Pope has also declared the coming year to be an "extraordinary" year of forgiveness. This would be a great start...
Here are a few ideas how you can help to make Global Peace start to happen in your heart:

- Between now and 25th December 2015, keep working on your list, ideally ‘till you're done.
- Spread the word - have conversations about what you're doing to make Global Peace our reality. How do you imagine it would be to live in a time of Global Peace?
- If you've already reached a state of peace in your own heart and have forgiven everyone and everything, then do all you can to help others.
