URGENT! HELP STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF BULGARIAN NATURE

Today, Feb 19, the Bulgarian government took a decision which involves the further deforestation and destruction of Pirin National Park (a site of the UNESCO World Heritage), showing that they care more about supporting large private commercial interests than the maintaining of this rich and unique ecosystem, and demonstrating a complete disregard of the voices of thousands of Bulgarian people who want to save what is left of their nature! The building of a second ski slope in the fragile ecosystem of the National Park means that some of the most beautiful and well-preserved pine woods in Europe, with many century-old trees, will be destroyed and this could lead to grave ecological consequences! Thousands of concerned Bulgarian citizens have been out in the streets protesting against the intentions of the government to allow logging and building in a territory which is protected by law and by three EU nature directives, but their voices were left unheard!
I am a young Bulgarian citizen and I am very worried that this is not only an ecological crime, but also an act of gross encroachment of our civil rights by our own government, which showed that serving the private interests of corporations with a lot of money and power is more important than defending the will and interests of thousands of their citizens!
