In 2012, the European Union received the Nobel Peace Prize for "over six decades of contribution to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe".
Only four years later, the European Union, facing the largest humanitarian crisis experienced by this continent after the Second World War, has arrived to an agreement with Turkey to return to this country all the refugees arriving to Greece, including the Syrians.
The lack of solidarity of the European Union with the thousands of people who are fleeing the war (many of them stuck at the theoretically non-existent borders of the European Union at freezing temperatures and with no shelter, no food and no help) is more and more appalling and shameful every day.
The European Union is witnessing a genocide at its doors and its only concern is the economic stability of Central Europe, proving that the European leaders do not care about the lives of all these human beings who are asking desperately for a solution. After its agreement with Ankara, the EU has confirmed that it would rather adopt racist and mercantilist measures, using the refugees as bargaining chips. These measures will not solve the situation but increase the incalculable number of deaths that the EU is trying to hide.
For all this reasons, for the incapacity of the European Union to manage this humanitarian crisis, for the lack of solidarity and ethics, and for putting its economic interests before the lives of thousands of victims of the war, the Norwegian Nobel Committee must revoke the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize to the European Union, as it degrades the prestige of the Prize and the Committee.

En 2012, la Unión Europea recibía el Premio Nobel de la Paz por "haber contribuido a lo largo de seis décadas al avance de la paz y reconciliación, la democracia y los derechos humanos en Europa".
Tan sólo cuatro años después, la Unión Europea, ante la mayor crisis humanitaria que ha vivido este continente, después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, ha llegado a un acuerdo con Turquía devolver al país vecino a todo extranjero que llegue ilegalmente a las costas griegas, incluso a los sirios.
La falta de solidaridad y el poco interés de la Unión Europea con las miles de personas que huyen de sus países en guerra y se encuentran atrapadas entre las teóricamente inexistentes fronteras de la Unión, a temperaturas bajo cero, sin abrigo, sin comida, sin ayuda, o las que mueren cruzando el mar, se hacen cada día más patentes.
La Unión Europea está abriendo las puertas a un genocidio y solo se preocupa de no desestabilizar económicamente Centro Europa, no de las vidas de los seres humanos que claman desesperadamente por una solución a su éxodo. La UE, como ha demostrado hoy tras su acuerdo con Ankara, opta por adoptar medidas tintadas de racismo y mercantilismo (donde se pone precio al flujo de refugiados que entran en un país) que no solo no solucionarán el problema, sino que aumentarán el reguero incalculable de muertes que tratan de esconder.
Por todas estas razones, por la incapacidad de la Unión Europea para gestionar esta crisis humanitaria, por su falta de solidaridad y ética, y por anteponer sus intereses económicos a las vidas de miles de víctimas de la guerra, el Comité Noruego del Nobel debería retirarle el galardón recibido en 2012, porque ensucia el propio palmarés de esta organización.
