Beautiful twin babies Taher and Tarek were 10 months old when they died. Their parents desperately tried to save their lives but the hospital near them had been closed due to government shelling.

President Assad of Syria’s forces are attacking doctors, hospitals and medical supplies as a new way to terrorize the Syrian people.

Medicine, food, physicians and other aid are waiting just outside the Syrian border. UN policy won’t allow them into Syria without Assad’s permission.  The UN Security Council could change that, but for months, Russia has stood in the way. This week, however, Russia took a baby step in the right direction, responding to pleas from the UN’s top aid chief by joining a call to Assad to let the aid in.

  But the real giant step we need Russia to take is to join a resolution ordering the aid in even when Assad refuses permission. That would save tons of lives, but will take a massive call to Russia to take that next step towards ending this suffering. This could be our best chance yet. Let’s make it a deafening call.
