But history shows how quickly we can turn the tide: the massive popular boycott of South Africa’s rugby team was one important piece that helped end the Apartheid regime, striking at its very core and forcing its leaders to confront their own atrocities.
Today, we can do the same with Israel.
Once again, people’s voices are getting louder and louder: in football stadiums, more and more fans are raising banners for Gaza risking penalties and fines. Norway has pledged to donate their profits from their match with Israel to Gaza, and now Italian coaches are calling FIFA to suspend Israel from the next World Cup.
