The final fight for the bees!
The final fight for the bees!

To all EU Agriculture and Environment Ministers:

As citizens concerned about the fate of our pollinators, and the secretive revision of the "Bee Guidance Document", we call on you to protect our bees, reject any watered down version of the original document, and stick to the “negligible effect” criteria when determining the allowed mortality rate of pollinators due to pesticide use. Listen to independent scientists and bee stakeholders, and reject any approach that puts the interests of the pesticide giants before pollinators.

Behind closed doors, and pushed by the pesticide lobby Europe's hard-won bee protections are being gutted.

The industry’s proposal for the little-publicised guideline is based on shoddy science, independent experts were never consulted, the public never heard. Yet it looks like Agriculture Ministers are caving to the pressure from pesticide giants and plan to vote in favour of a guideline that would be ok with mass murdering our bees.

But who's even more powerful than the pesticide lobby? All of us!

We have a small window of opportunity before Member States vote on the “Bee Guidance Document” 22 October. And we know public pressure works -- that's how we won the ban on neonicotinoids in 2018. Let’s create a buzz that is impossible to ignore and Avaaz will take our call to Ministers, media and civil servants. Join now & share widely!
