Coca-Cola is killing our oceans

To James Quincey, CEO of Coca-Cola:

Single-use plastics are devastating our oceans worldwide. As a producer of over 110 million plastic bottles a year, Coca-Cola has an opportunity to be a catalyst in transforming the industry’s impact on our oceans. We urge Coca-Cola to be a leader in reducing the use of single-use plastics by developing a comprehensive policy to address plastics in our oceans.

Coca-Cola is killing our oceans
Sea turtles ingesting so much plastic they can’t swim. Sea lions strangled by plastic cords. Majestic whales dying slow deaths from chemical contamination. Over 100 million marine animals are killed every year because of our addiction to plastic we use once and throw away.

Plastic producers MUST take responsibility for this crisis. And right now we have a huge opportunity: Coca-Cola, who makes over 110 billion plastic bottles a year, is considering a shift away from plastics. They’re the largest producer of soft drinks worldwide, so a commitment from them could transform the entire industry!

Organisations like Greenpeace are ramping up pressure on Coca-Cola. Our community can be a gamechanger by flooding them with messages to be a leader on cleaning up our oceans! When we reach 1 million, we’ll deliver a giant message in a bottle to their headquarters.
