Social media: Correct the Record!
Avaaz just released a report showing that Facebook is the epicentre of the coronavirus infodemic, where dangerous lies are infecting millions of people -- including the most vulnerable of our loved ones.

The World Health Organization says these viral lies can be just as dangerous as the pandemic. And now new research suggests that the spread of these lies can put ALL OF US at risk, because those who believe misinformation about Covid-19 might also be less likely to follow public health guidelines to flatten this pandemic’s deadly curve.

But there’s good news!

There is a vaccine for Coronavirus lies.

In days, leading doctors and health workers, who are risking their lives on the frontlines for all of us, will launch a call on Facebook and all social media platforms to adopt “Correct the Record”, and inform everyone who has seen or interacted with misinformation that’s making their jobs even more difficult.
