Taraneh and Romina turned 20 behind bars.

Before prison, Taraneh dreamt of raising horses. Then masked agents took the twins away from their bed, middle of the night. Their mother searched for them for four months, unsure if they were still alive. When she found them, she barely recognised her own daughters. Their scalps were patchy, as their hair had been ripped out by soldiers, and Taraneh could no longer walk.

The court has now sentenced Taraneh to death and Romina to 25 years in prison. Yet no evidence of any crime was ever presented. The sisters say the soldiers forced Taraneh to “confess” under torture, by threatening to make her watch Romina being raped.

Our movement has stood up for people facing unjust imprisonment before, and succeeded in freeing them. As Taraneh’s lawyers are appealing, this narrow window could be our last chance to save her life.

Will you add your name and urge governments in contact with Iran to halt her execution and free both sisters?
