COP30: Lula's Signature to Protect Our Planet
To Brazil’s President Lula and relevant Brazilian authorities:
We call on you to ensure that the land rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities are fully recognised by the end of 2025 in multilateral agreements, national legal frameworks and land tenure processes. Formally recognising their territories is necessary to uphold their rights, sustain the forests, and ensure their survival. It is also one of the most effective ways to address the biodiversity and climate crises humanity faces.
Call on President Lula to recognise Indigenous territories before COP30:

To Brazil’s President Lula and relevant Brazilian authorities:
With the stroke of a pen, Brazil’s President Lula can safeguard thousands of hectares of Indigenous territories — a step that would shield communities, remove invaders, preserve culture, and protect our forests. But powerful interests are pushing back, while Earth Defenders remain at terrible risk.
More than 2,250 have been killed globally in recent years for standing up to the ranchers, loggers, and miners who invade their sacred lands and forests for profit. Many of these Earth Defenders still lack full legal recognition of the territories they protect with their lives. This can change now:
Indigenous Peoples and local communities have a clear demand before COP30 starts: for Lula to formally recognise their lands.
Sign now and spread the word to make their call for justice unstoppable — together we can get to 1.5 million voices before COP30!
