In the early hours of this morning, the humanitarian ship, the Madleen, was illegally seized by Israeli forces on international waters.
In the absence of concrete actions from governments all over the world, Greta Thunberg and 11 brave volunteers were attempting to deliver life saving supplies for babies and families while they suffer from the Israeli government's enforced three month blockade.
And now, they’re held captive.
Kidnapping the Madleen’s crew is just the latest sign that the Israeli government believes they can commit war crimes with impunity. If the relentless bombardment were not already devastating, the use of starvation as a weapon of war marks another grave violation of international law.
No country should be allowed to routinely violate international law without consequence. Let’s turn the global outrage into real pressure. We demand the release of the Madleen 12, immediate humanitarian access to Gaza, and the release of all hostages and everyone illegally detained.
