Save the Tepoztlán's bat
To the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico:
We urge you to halt the luxury construction projects in the area above Oztuyehualco Cave. Not only is the Mexican long-nosed bat at risk, but also the entire biodiversity chain of the region. Save this sanctuary now.

To the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico:
Mexican long-nosed bats are not as colourful as coral reefs, nor do they have the cute faces of vaquitas. But they’re key to pollinating agaves – plants used for Mexican Mezcal. The biodiversity of Tepoztlán also depends on them.
And right now, the Oztuyehualco Cave — last known mating site for these bats — is suffering irreparable damage from a handful of luxury developments. The local government has already shut them down, but they continue operating as if nothing happened.
The bat population has already fallen from 9,000 to 3,000, and it may decline further once the maturing period starts in a few months.
But if we’re thousands and thousands to sign this call in the next few days, we can alert the Mexican government, supercharging the voice of local organisations, and force them to act to save Tepoztlán bats’ last refuge. Sign and share to save Tepoztlán bats.
