SAVE BEES & FARMERS: JOIN THE EUROPEAN CITIZENS' INITIATIVE
SAVE BEES & FARMERS: JOIN THE EUROPEAN CITIZENS' INITIATIVE

To all Members of the European Parliament and the European Commission:

As citizens concerned about the fate of bees and farmers, we call for action through:

A phase-out of the use of synthetic pesticides
By 2030 the use of synthetic pesticides shall be gradually reduced by 80 percent in EU agriculture. By 2035, agriculture in the entire Union shall be working without synthetic pesticides.

Measures to recover biodiversity
Habitats shall be restored and agricultural areas shall become a vector of biodiversity recovery.

Support for farmers
Farmers must be supported in the necessary transition towards agroecology. Small, diverse and sustainable farms shall be favoured, organic farming expanded, and research into pesticide-free and GMO-free agriculture will be supported.

More information:

Three years after we helped win an EU ban on bee-killing pesticides, dangerous poison is still being allowed on our fields. But we now have a unique chance to stop this once and for all.

A European Citizens Initiative is demanding a full transition to pesticide-free agriculture, subsidies for sustainable farming, and a rescue plan for biodiversity. If we reach 1 million signatures, the EU is obliged to address our demands -- if we all sign, we could push this over the edge in just one day.

It's worked before -- Avaazers used this tool to help put important issues from glyphosate to GMO’s on the agenda of the European Commission and Parliament. Let’s do it again and make this the biggest public demand to save the bees ever! Add your name and share with everyone.
