To President of Colombia Iván Duque:

The world is watching. As citizens from around the world, we are horrified by the violence reigning over Colombia. We call on you to end the crackdown, stop the militarization of the cities, investigate the atrocities, and open real and meaningful dialogue with civilians. Silencing peaceful protests with brutality will severely damage Colombia’s global reputation and tear the country apart.

To President of Colombia Iván Duque:
"The world is watching. As citizens from around the world, we are horrified by the violence reigning over Colombia. Hours before he was shot 8 times by a gang of armed men, Lucas was dancing at a march in Colombia. The peace activist and yoga teacher was shot twice in the head, one of 46 people killed in the country over the last 10 days. The massacre needs to stop!

On April 28, the Colombian people rose up against injustice. They were met with a brutal state response that sabotaged peaceful protests and plunged the country into chaos. Now cities are under siege and police and ex-guerrillas are stoking the violence by posing as protesters dressed in plain clothes, burning buses, police stations, smashing shop windows, and breaking ATMs.

Join this urgent global call asking President Duque to end the crackdown on demonstrators, stop the militarization of cities and start a public-facing dialogue with the protesters. Sign now and we will take this petition to key global leaders to help deliver it to President Duque.
