AI: Greed vs human rights
AI: Greed vs human rights

To Ministers Jean-Noël Barrot (France) and Volker Wissing (Germany):

Artificial intelligence holds much promise – and great risk. If left unchecked, it will be used to perpetrate massive human rights abuses, destroy workers’ rights and could even lead to human extinction.

We call on you to protect society from these threats by making sure effective human rights protections are at the heart of the EU’s new AI law.

Your first duty is to protect people, and if you don’t adopt strong human rights assessments and protections against AI, we could forfeit the basic rights humanity has fought so dearly to uphold.

Act now, while there is still time.
