We urgently call on you to remove provisions in the Planning Bill that fast-track new fossil fuel infrastructure. We are shocked that the Green Party has added last-minute amendments to prioritise massive liquified natural gas (LNG) import terminals, despite the global scientific consensus that we must stop building new fossil fuel infrastructure.
By supporting LNG, the Green Party is breaking its 2020 promise to block LNG and fracked gas imports. With the recent court decision on the Shannon LNG terminal, these amendments could pave the way for its approval.
Do the right thing: Remove the LNG from the Planning bill and ban LNG now!
