[UPDATE: 11 fin whales have been killed in the last few weeks]

It’s gruesome. They fire explosive harpoons that detonate inside whales' bodies, leaving them to agonise for up to two hours -- a hunting method experts have already deemed inhumane.

But millionaire Kristján Loftsson has no intention of stopping.  And so far, he's getting away with it: we fear 147 whales could be slaughtered in the coming weeks, as Loftsson’s hunting quota is still in force.
