Thank you Pope Francis!

"If they accept the Lord and have good will, who am I to judge them? They shouldn't be marginalized. The tendency (to be gay) is not the problem. They are our brothers." ~ Pope Francis

To Pope Francis:

Thank you for taking a stand for human dignity for all people and for encouraging others to respect equality and human rights. We urge you to do more to pursue these important issues and celebrate your words of respect and love.

Thank you Pope Francis!
Pope Francis has just taken the first step towards undoing centuries of discrimination in the Catholic Church -- telling reporters from around the world that he is not in a position to judge gay people who seek God.

His words bring us closer to human dignity for all, and mark a stand against those who misuse the bible to bring hate and discrimination. It's not enough, but it is huge and we can meet him with a just-as-huge global thank you, encouraging him in this first move, drowning out the hateful opposition and giving him the support he needs to do more.

The church can, and has, been a force for good and this is our moment to celebrate this important step towards the promotion of human dignity by a pillar of the religious community -- each one of our words of encouragement will be delivered to the Vatican this week, welcoming Pope Francis home to a flood of good wishes from all of us!
