Jameson Land has been the same for millions of years; a stunning tundra landscape with a rich wildlife of arctic foxes and wild ox-breeding. Drilling was banned in 2021 when it was made a protected zone by Greenlanders.
Yet a US Trump-linked company is about to use an old oil licence to drill without permission from the people - or Greenland’s government.
They just offloaded heavy drilling machinery on the coast, aiming to extract 1 trillion dollars worth of oil from this protected land!
This is a ticking climate bomb. And Greenlanders can hardly fight it on their own.
