UK: Yemen Ceasefire Now!

To UK Prime Minister David Cameron:

As citizens across the globe concerned about the mounting bloodshed and hunger crisis in Yemen, we urge you to use your leverage on Saudi Arabia to call for a permanent ceasefire. It’s extremely likely that weapons made in the UK are being used to kill thousands of innocent people including over 600 children, which would make the UK complicit in the war. As pen-holder for Yemen in the UNSC, the UK should be taking a stronger leadership role in stopping the violence, ensuring aid is delivered, and help kickstart a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

UK: Yemen Ceasefire Now!
The war in Yemen has driven the country to the brink of famine -- thousands of children could die from hunger before the end of the year. But finally, after months of hopelessness, we have a plan to save Yemen from collapse.

Saudi Arabia has been relentlessly bombing Yemen and now families are being forced to flee from one building to the next, crammed into tiny rooms with just one bed -- wondering how they will get food and clean water to survive another day.

Saudi Arabia is likely using British war planes and missiles to carry out these attacks, making the UK complicit in this war -- something they definitely don’t want. So if we raise a massive international outcry, we can hold the UK to account and pressure them to use their leverage on Saudi Arabia to call for a permanent ceasefire and host talks between all Yemeni factions.

The UK could do this, but it will take immense pressure from each of us to get them to move. Sign the urgent petition -- this is our best chance to save millions of lives in Yemen.
