Mauerpark in Gefahr! Stoppt die Bebauung!
Heute sind Mauer, Stacheldraht und Schießanlagen weg. Die Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer ist ein würdiger Ort des Gedenkens für Berliner und Besucher aus aller Welt geworden. Der anschließende Mauerpark hat sich über die Jahre seit der deutschen Einheit zu einem Anziehungspunkt für Künstler und Kreative entwickelt. Woche für Woche strömen Menschen aus der ganzen Welt in den Mauerpark um sich zu entfalten – Karaoke zu singen oder zu hören – interessante Leute zu treffen und kennen zu lernen, mit Europäern, Afrikanern, Amerikanern, Asiaten und Ozeanern Feste zu feiern oder einfach nur auf der Wiese zu liegen und das bunte Treiben zu bestaunen. Kosmopoliten Hauptstädter und Touristen genießen hier das neue Berliner Lebensgefühl. Im Mauerpark wächst die Welt zusammen.
Seit Jahren wird über die Bebauung des Mauerparks verhandelt und damit faktisch über die Zerstörung einer Berliner Kultstätte. Nun wird es ernst. Der Berliner Senat hat den Vertrag mit den Immobilienspekulanten der Firma CA Immo verhandelt durch den auf der Nordseite des Parks Wohnblocks mit 600 Wohneinheiten auf engstem Raum entstehen sollen. Am 13.09.2012 hat das Bezirksparlament Berlin Mitte dem Bezirksamt dafür die Zustimmung gegeben.
Doch noch ist es nicht zu spät -- mit einem Appel an Bürgermeister Klaus Wowereit können wir dafür sorgen, dass der Park nicht bebaut wird und mit ihm seine Bedeutung für globale Toleranz und Zusammengehörigkeit aller Kulturen wächst!
Diese Petition möchte alle bisherigen Kampagnen, Initiativen, Aufrufe und Petitionen gegen die Bebauung des Mauerparks aufgreifen und unterstreichen. Sie ist weder Konkurrenz noch Alternative. Sie soll dafür sorgen, dass die Idee eines freien und unbebauten Parks Raum greift und weit über Berlin hinaus viele Unterstützerinnen und Unterstützer findet.
Why is this
important
The
Berlin Wall was for decades the symbol of the Cold War and the division of
Europe. The
death strip meant fear and lack of freedom for all Berliners.
Today
wall, barbed wire and spring guns are gone. The
Berlin Wall Memorial has become a worthy place of memory for Berliners and
visitors from around the world. The
adjacent Mauerpark has become over the years since German Unification a magnet
for artists and creative people. Week
after week, people flock from all over the world to Mauerpark in order to flower
out, to sing or to listen karaoke, to meet interesting people, and to celebrate
with Europeans, Africans, Americans, Asians and with people from Oceania or
just lie on the lawn and marvel at the colorful hustle and bustle. Cosmopolitans, Berliners
and tourists enjoy here the new Berlin lifestyle. At Mauerpark the world grows together.
For
years, the proceedings and negotiations for construction on the Mauerpark area
have been ongoing and by that in fact the proceedings about the destruction of
a cult site in Berlin. Now it’s getting
serious. The
Berlin Senate has negotiated a contract with the property speculators from CA
Immo by which it is foreseen to built residential blocks with 600 residential
units in a narrow space on the north side of the park. On
13 September 2012, the District Parliament Berlin-Mitte has given consent to
the District Office.
But
still it is not too late - with an appeal to Mayor Klaus Wowereit, we can campaign
for avoiding any construction on the Mauerpark area and for strengthening its
importance for global tolerance and unity of all cultures!
This
petition would like to take up and to support all the previous campaigns,
initiatives, appeals and petitions campaigning against construction on the
Mauerpark area. It
is neither competition nor alternative to previous initiatives. You
should make sure that the idea of a free park space without any construction
gains support by a many people as possible in and far beyond Berlin.
