Birmingham City Council : Save Fairway Day Centre from Closure

Fairview Day Centre is the only centre in the South of Birmingham which provides vital day care to persons with physical & learning disabilities as well as to older adults. If Birmingham City Council is allowed to close this vital support centre over 150 persons will be impacted, and many persons will lose a range of stimulating social mental activities from a caring & safe environment.

My 88 year old father, John, who suffers from dementia attends Fairview Day Centre 3 days per week. His doctors constantly stress the importance of mental stimulation to the health of my father.

Without public facilities such as Fairview Day Centre a group of vulnerable persons will have their quality of life significantly reduced, and Birmingham City Council may end up paying out more money to accommodate these persons in full time residential care.
