My husband Rawle Vitalis is from St Lucia but he has been living in Canada for the past eight years. We have two daughters together ages three and six. Rawle is a loving, caring, devoted, husband and father not to mention hard working tax payer for the time that he has been living in Canada. We are a struggling shift‐working family and my husband takes care of our children when I work nights and evenings. For the past 18 years, I have worked as a social and child welfare service provider. I work with socially disadvantaged, at‐risked adolescents with intellectual, behavioral and physical challenges. This job is extremely stressful and requires employees to work in shifts. I would not be able to continue to work in this field without my husband’s support. For 8 long painful years I have tried to legitimately sponsor my husband but I have had no success. Recently, we received a notice from CIC that they have closed his file. They are refusing to re‐open and review his application despite all our efforts. They are asking us to re‐apply for the third time in 8 years as we have been faced with obstacles along the way that we were not in control of. This has caused an enormous amount of emotional strife and financial burden on our family. Rawle has no criminal record and has passed all medical background health checks by multiple licensed physicians. If he is force to leave the country, at minimal, our daughters would be emotionally devastated and disturbed as they have known and have been taken care off by their father. Furthermore, a deportation order would rip our family apart. At this point I am in desperate need of your help. Please sign and share this petition today.
