Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: make housing a Canadian human right

This is important because we have in Canada a worsening affordable housing crisis.  Because housing is not enshrined in our Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms nor in any form of legislation governments are able to avoid this issue leaving large populations of low income Canadians vulnerable and homeless.  This is especially critical given that Canada is a wealthy country with a global reputation for fairness and human rights, while the gap between rich and poor is growing exponentially.  It is good that the Trudeau Government will be introducing a national housing strategy in 2017.  We want this housing strategy to have teeth, therefore  the need to make housing a Canadian human right.
