- Mohammed al-Qiq, a Palestinian journalist,
is on his 80th day of a hunger strike protesting his torture and administrative detention without charge or trial by Israel. He is at imminent risk of death.

- Al-Qiq has stated that he will continue his hunger
strike until he is fully free or he dies. Since the 10th of
February, Israeli authorities ceased all negotiation with al-Qiq's legal defense team, and he has been left to die

- Israel's use of administrative detention and torture, and its attacks on Palestinian journalists and other civilians, are universally-recognized violations of human rights and international law.

- The EU continues to uphold its Association Agreement with Israel, despite Israel's breach of its commitments to respect human rights and democratic principles, as stipulated under article 2 of the Association Agreement

The EU must demand al-Qiq's immediate release and end all support for Israel's imprisonment without trial of Palestinians (and anyone else).

We call on the European Union to suspend its Association Agreement with Israel until it complies with international law.

We call the international community to protest in front of Israeli Embassies and Consulates and Public Squares all over the world to demand freedom for Mohammed Al-Qiq.

Palestinian journalist Muhammed al-Qiq, is held without charge or trial by Israel for nearly three months and on hunger strike since 25 November. On the 80th day of his hunger strike he is at imminent risk of death.

During the past week, daily protests are held across the West Bank, Gaza, occupied Jerusalem and at Haemek hospital in Israel, where al-Qiq is held.

We call on the international community to reinforce our
call: The EU must demand al-Qiq's immediate release and end all support for Israel's imprisonment without trial of Palestinians (and anyone else).
In particular, We call on the European Union to suspend its Association Agreement with Israel until it complies with international law.

Israeli forces captured al-Qiq in a 21 November nighttime raid on his Ramallah home.

On 25 November, al-Qiq launched a hunger strike to protest the torture to which he says he was subjected in Israeli custody, and to demand his release from detention he believes is motivated by his work as a journalist. Israel has held him without charge or trial in a practice known as administrative detention.

On Thursday 4 February Israel’s High Court of Justice decided to “suspend” his detention order given his precarious and deteriorating health, on the condition that al-Qiq must remain in the Israeli hospital where he is now held. According to al-Qiq’s lawyer, the High Court stated that the authorities would re-arrest al-Qiq should his health improve, and resume the detention order against him.

Al-Qiq has rejected the Israeli High Court decision and
a conditional offer for his release on 1 May, instead demanding immediate freedom and treatment in a Palestinian
hospital.

Al-Qiq has refused medical treatment in Israel up until this point, and has told medical staff that he does not wish to be treated while he is conscious. His medical team at HaEmek hospital, who decided to respect his wish not to be treated after earlier forcibly treating him, has disregarded two
recommendations from the hospital’s ethics committee recommending he be forcibly treated again.

Al-Qiq has stated that he will continue his hunger strike until he is fully free or he dies.

Since the 10th of February, Israeli authorities ceased all
negotiation with al-Qiq's legal defense team, and he has been left to die

Al-Qiq is one of 6,800 Palestinian political prisoners held by Israel, including 660 administrative detainees and 18
journalists. Nearly all are tortured during interrogations by Israeli forces.
