Dragan Velinov Iliev is a 27-years old Philosophy student from Sofia, Bulgaria. As a young citizen, he is devoted to society, always contributing for the commonwealth of society, in accordance to his humble potential. On the 09.10.2013, Dragan Iliev attended to the protest procession against the Office of the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Plamen Oresharski, continuing 120+ days.

Then, a policewoman, being in an open struggle with an old male citizen, tosses her protective helmet on the ground, shouting at the old citizen, “now you’ll see”. The helmet falls just 2 meters away from Dragan, as he walks towards it and bends down to pick the helmet up, with the intention to give it back to the policewoman. After he picks the helmet on, he is respected from this particular police officer with the words “Give my helmet back!!!”, pushing and pulling Dragan in all directions. After Dragan repeats twice, that “the helmet is picked by him with the intention to give it back peacefully and cooperatively, in accordance with the intention from the very start”, she continues on exerting aggression, with no ways of establishing an open, rational
communication from her side. After that two more police officers grab on Dragan, as the total 3 police officers start pulling him and tossing him around. For the third time, he announces that he is “a peaceful protester, who picked the helmet up with the intention of giving back the helmet, with no confrontation”, as Dragan is the person who personally gives the helmet into her (the policewoman’s) hands.

Later on, Dragan, along with a friend of his, is stopped by the police, while walking with two bottles of yogurt, as the police instructions are, “give us your identity cards, or we will arrest you.” After Dragan and his friend cooperate totally with showing their cards and with helping the police officers in the search, they are arrested without a notice, as to the questions “why are they arrested”, three of the 7 police officers involved in the arrest operation answer, quote, “now you’ll see why!”

Dragan, the person who personally gave the policewoman her helmet back, from the ground, is charged with “Bold pillage and hooligan activity”, as the sentence may be from 3 to 5 years.
Support an active and responsible member of society. Let us not allow subjectivism and err operational perception took away the citizens their right to be free! Especially when they cooperate!
