Karmenu Vella, Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries comissioner: Investigate an environmental crime in Targu Mures Romania

The Chemical Plant of Targu Mures, situated in the immediate vicinity of the city( less than 2 kilometres) is polluting heavily, making noticeable changes in the air quality. We can barely stay outside or open the windows. The air is stingy, has a strong smell of urrea . There have been numerous environmental concerns raised by the locals, yet the air quality has not changed, it is difficult to breath or stay outside in the days of urea fog. Prior local investigations have been directed, yet the results were either inconclusive either hidden. We are soliciting a thorough investigation that will determine how and if Azomures can continue its activity with 0 influence on the health and well being of the locals as well as the environment.( photo Dan Ghemes).
