The USDA just told our local school district that it's up to them whether or not to mix ammonia-treated cow scraps in with the meat served at our school. The stuff is called "pink slime" and it doesn't belong in kids' hamburgers. Besides being gross and disgusting (it used to be only for pet food), they've found e. coli and salmonella in it dozens of times. Let's tell the school district: Don't buy "pink slime" to add to the meat in the cafeteria!
