Lebanon; Australia; Ali Elamine
Sally Faulkner is currently in custody in Lebanon having attempted on Wed 6 Apr to take her two small children back home to Australia following her estranged husband's removal of them by deceipt to Lebanon. We, a group demanding that the children are prioritised in legal & family proceedings, petition the following entities to take action:

LEBANON: For the children's sake, the court ruling on Sally's case should take full account of context: Ali Elamine's retention of the children removed from Australia by deceipt despite their pleadings to return to their mother , and his complete communication blockade between them and their mother for 10 months. The courts need to elicit the views of the children and take those into account.

AUSTRALIA: Get more involved to protect these 3 ½ and 5 ½ year old Australian citizens' best interests. Help give effect to their stated opinion about with whom and where they want to live. Revisit the legal status of parental child abduction raised in Sally's 2015 petition to Julie Bishop.

ALI ELAMINE: Unfortunately for you, in time your children will read about what you did and indeed what Sally did in response. Act now to write a better story. The children need their mother and you know it. Put their well-being and not yours at the top of your priorities.

Australian-by-birth citizens Lahela & Noah, at the time 4 and 2, were taken in 2015 with the consent of their Australian mother Sally Faulkner on a 3 week holiday to Lebanon by their Lebanese father Ali Elamine following a 2 year amicable separation. On arrival Ali informed Sally the children were not coming back.

In subsequent recorded Skype conversations 'permitted' in the early weeks, Noah pleads " I want to come back. Daddy won't bring me back " whilst Lahela sobs " Mum...I want to come back " Whilst Ali had travelled frequently to see his children freely in Australia, he quickly proceeded to blockade all communications between his children and their mother, despite Sally's sustained, frantic attempts to contact them, a deadlock that lasted 10 months. Ignoring their pleadings, he has put his small children through profound emotional trauma and grief equivalent to had their mother died . Expensive legal assistance and consular input proved fruitless for Sally, who faced never seeing her babies again, their sobs ringing in her ears.

Lahela and Noah's rights must be prioritised . Their rights are:
-to free two-way parental access
-to have their preferences about where and with whom they live listened to.
