Please help us, Friends. For decades, Calle Pilitas was connected to Pino Suárez by a public pedestrian staircase, which was used by both the upper and lower neighborhoods. A condo developer took down our neighborhood stairway and for almost a decade has not replaced it as promised. This Calle Pilitas stairwell offered a safer and more convenient pedestrian travel route down to the Romantic Zone and was at one time used by people daily. Again, years ago the developer promised all the neighborhood that he would replace the staircase (when he took it down), but instead, he simply covered the area with cement. It is now clear he had no intention of replacing the stairway and worse, he wants to build a new condominium here on the public property staircase where the end of street has been left in ruins as a result of his construction. This petition is to let the City of Puerto Vallarta and our supportive Neighborhood Association know that we want our stairway restored and returned back to it's original function. We have secured a substantial financial donation for this project. As a community, we are willing to self-fund this restoration, completion and build an artistic stairwell that our neighborhood can be proud of and connect our neighbors once again. Please sign our petition so we can get the permits and show the community support we need.
