The Zapatista community of San Marcos Avilés is being publicly threatened with violence because they have built their own autonomous school in their community!!!

The Zapatistas have created their own projects of Health and Education because, as indigenous people, their government has neglected their Health and Education for years.

The aggressors are supporters of the main political parties in Mexico, the same parties who for years left the indigenous to die alone in the countyside instead of fulfilling their responsibilies as leaders. Now that the Zapatistas have created their own projects of Health and Education, the political parties and their supporters are attempting to undermine this embarassing defiance of their authority.

To allow intimidation, displacement and violence to happen to the community of San Marcos Avilés is to allow unjust violence on the Zapatista project for a dignified life for all. This is why the petition is important.
