According to Pakistan Human Rights Commission ‐ 'Pakistan has never been a particularly safe country for rights activists. Many have been killed, injured, abducted and threatened for their work. Unfortunately, these actions have not always come from non‐state quarters. '

At least Nine Pakistani activists known on social media for their secular leftist views have gone missing in the first week of 2017
Of these at least four activists have been confirmed as missing&colon Waqas Goraya and Asim Saeed who disappeared on January 4; activist, poet Salman Haider who vanished on Friday and Ahmed Raza Naseer who went missing Saturday.

This petition is been motivated by indian urdu novelist rahman abbas who started protest through his open letter to Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif .
