According to Transparency International, Romania is one of the EU's most corrupt countries. This situation is due to mass corruption and bribery among the Romanian political class.
As a direct consequence, over 4 million of Romanians become immigrants. Most of the Romanian politicians from today were top activists of the former Romanian Communist Party or officers of the ex-secret police agency: “Securitatea”.
The petition is advocating the need of changing of the actual political class by stating that the electoral law should deny the former party top activists and “Securitatea” officers the right to be nominated as candidates on any list for the next three running legislatures.
