President Faure Gnassingbé: Ban the Killing of Dogs for Evala

President Faure Gnassingbé
Every year in Togo and Ghana dogs are brutally slaughtered for a tradition known as Evala. Four years leading up to the event many dogs are butchered as its believed all the dogs natural traits will be passed onto young teenagers that eventually compete in the Evala national wrestling events. Two weeks leading up to Evala more dogs are brutally killed either via hanging, or are bludgeoned over the head and body, finally during the two week festival dog meat is consumed by the non-competing locals that heavily increases ones chances of contracting the deadly rabies virus.
The President of Togo Faure Gnassingbé attends the events in Africa within the Kara region, yet seemingly forgets that the festival is a hot bed danger zone for rabies infection, and other diseases to occur. We are calling on the President of Togo Faure Gnassingbé to now implement a complete ban on all dog killings, introducing rabies screening clinics, and new laws that protect both dogs and cats from being abused and killed for a fake tradition that science has proven to be nothing but a myth.
