President Zuma: Please Create a People's Bank in South Africa!!!
Lord Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England 2003-2013 says,
“Of all the many ways of organising banking,
the worst is the one we have today. ... Change is, I believe, inevitable. The
question is only whether we can think our way through to a better outcome
before the next generation is damaged by a future and bigger crisis. This
crisis has already left a legacy of debt to the next generation. We must not
leave them the legacy of a fragile banking system too.”
Have you,
Mr ZUMA, ever wondered why the income gap between the HAVES and the HAVE NOTS continues
to grow from year to year? The following figures show the income ratios of the
richest 20% of the world’s population to the poorest 20% from 1960 to the
present. INCOME RATIO -
Rich to Poor in
1960 30
: 1, in
1990 60
: 1,
in 2000 80
: 1 and in
2015 120
: 1 (possibly greater)
In the
light of these facts, Mr Zuma, can you really say that the ANC has faithfully
served the interests of all the citizens of this resource rich country of ours during
the 21 years since 1994?HOW CAN THIS GROSS INEQUALITY BE REMEDIED?
The following proposal was made in a report written by a lawmaker for the Iceland PrimeMinister.http://eng.forsaetisraduneyti.is/media/Skyrslur/monetary-reform.pdf.

.In our present day economic system Money is created as INTEREST bearing DEBT by commercial profit making corporations and that ECONOMICS is not a true Science but the Science of a man made system we can identify a set of inter-related SYSTEMIC CHANGES which will promote cooperation, service and green living ideals in place of competition, greed and many of our present day environmentally destructive practices.
- The most fundamental of these changes is that of establishing a PEOPLE’S BANK as is being called for in this petition.
- A further question that arises is, “How can money be created as value?”
The positive aims of the NDP require financial capital. Capital is required to implement worthwhile projects. Infrastructure is a form of communal wealth - valuable capital - especially when it is contributing to the health and welfare of society as a whole. A People’s Bank would enable the country to create money interest free to fund the construction of much needed infrastructure. Dependence on obtaining capital from the Financial Elite would be bypassed. Establishing a National Mutual Fund as an Institution that would invest newly created money in productive industry would become a means whereby the government could provide a Basic Income Grant to all Citizen's.
